I've gone back and forth about doing a blog so often, but the upcoming release of my seventh book, The KISS FAQ came with a request from my publisher to start up a blog, so I finally caved. Hopefully, for those of you who check out this blog every so often, I'll give you something of interest to read.
One reason suggested to me to put together this blog as well is due to the fact that there are elements of my upcoming KISS book (my fourth about the band, if you include the charity fantasy novel I did about them back in 2000 called A World Without Heroes) that I never got a chance to discuss there. With the blog, I'll have a chance to touch on a few things that, if we had the room in a book nearly 400 pages long, I would have covered as well.
Further, this will be my chance to discuss a few of my own KISS stories over the years that I never got the chance to do anywhere else. Certainly not in my books about the band, and only rarely in places here and there were I have written short articles about the band in the past.
In the coming days, I'll be giving my thoughts on a variety of topics related to KISS, but I also plan to discuss other topics related to my other books from over the years: Alice Cooper, urban legends of rock music and so on. I'll also be mentioning details of things as we go along through the process of seeing a new book released and all that occurs with that; plus, some details on my next book, which I'm excited about and have already signed a deal for to be published in late 2013. This one will be my first outside of the music biographies that I have done in the past and I'll more details on that as time goes along.
For now, I hope you enjoy the ride when you come by here. I'll caution you now - everyone gets on me for "writing too much." I once had a famous actor email me back after a long "how are you doing" post by me to say "You write too damn much." I'll try to watch that, but then again, this is my chance to say what I want, so don't be surprised if you see me going down that path once again here. But be patience, and I'm sure that there will be some good stories along the way.
